Jul 2020–Stone is Structure

PICCO's scope included design assist to coordinate structure and backup framing requirements to help best facilitate the anchoring of the stone. Connection design for all of the stone cladding, including the analysis and engineering of the structural stone columns, which were composed of solid Indiana Limestone and were up to 45 feet tall. Particular care had to be taken at the connection at the top of the stone columns, so that vertical load could be carried down, while at the same time preventing the transfer of lateral load due to the movement of the steel structure.
