As President, Mike brings over 30 years of expertise in stone consulting and structural engineering, making him a cornerstone of our continued success. His leadership is grounded in deep technical knowledge and a passion for innovation in stone cladding and anchoring systems. Mike remains actively involved in key projects and is widely recognized as a leading expert and speaker in his field. He regularly travels to conferences, special educational sessions, quarries and projects to share his expertise and knowledge.
Mike holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree from McMaster University and is licensed to practice in multiple jurisdictions. In 2017, he was recognized as one of McMaster University’s Top 150 Alumni for his professional contributions.
He plays an active role in shaping industry standards and safety practices. Mike is a long-standing member of the Ontario Home Builders Association and serves as a safety consultant to the Residential Framing Contractors Association of Metropolitan Toronto and Vicinity. He also contributed to national standards as a member of the Canadian Standards Association's technical committee on Masonry Design (S304.1).
Additionally, Mike served a a consultant to the Terrazzo, Tile and Marble Association of Canada, where he served on the Dimension Stone Guide Committee. His industry leadership was further recognized when he served as President of the Natural Stone Institute and was named its Person of the Year in 2021.
