Fall 2019 - Building Stone Magazine

The iconic Waldorf Astoria Hotel is located in Beverly Hills, California, on the renowned corner of Wilshire Boulevard and Santa Monica Boulevard. This iconic hotel, the first on the west coast to bear the iconic Waldorf name, was built to provide a luxury hotel experience on par with the surrounding “golden triangle district” shops and real estate. Interiors were designed by the renowned Pierre-Yves Rochon to capture the spirit of old Hollywood glamour with a streamlined modern flair.

The elegant Art Deco inspired public lobby, corridors, and central fireplace are core to the indulgent experience and the use of natural stone brings life to these spaces like no other material. PICCO Engineering was engaged to produce the stone shop drawings and fabrication tickets required for all the interior public spaces, the Presidential suite, counters, bases and tubs, and other miscellaneous stone elements.
