PICCO Receives Two MIA Pinnacle Awards

PICCO Engineering had the distinct honour of receiving two Pinnacle Awards (of merit) from the Marble Institute of America in Las Vegas on January 21st at the MIA Awards Luncheon.

The first Award was for the Ark of Return, which is the United Nations’ first (and only) permanent Memorial in New York City. We were joined by two major stakeholders in the project—Rodney Leon (Architect) and Jonathan Tibett and some of his team (Precision Stone). The second Award was for the Canadian Museum of Human Rights in Winnipeg, Manitoba, which is Canada’s only national Museum located outside of Ottawa. It was a proud achievement indeed for the entire PICCO team. Next year we will be aiming for the Grande Pinnacle Award!

The Pinnacle Awards are highly coveted amongst MIA stone professionals around the world and are given to projects whose beauty, creativity, ingenuity, and craftsmanship exemplify professional mastery in the use of natural stone in commercial and residential environments. There are six categories and this year’s winners included 11 Awards of Merit and 4 Excellence Awards. The Grande Pinnacle Award is given to the one winner amongst the Excellence achievers for the best stone project overall.

Our congratulations goes to Walker Zanger for the Park Hyatt in New York City!
