The Aga Khan Museum, located in Toronto, serves as a vibrant hub for Islamic arts and culture, showcasing a stunning architectural design that harmonizes modernity with natural elements. This significant project is part of a larger complex that includes the Ismaili Centre and a beautifully landscaped garden, utilizing premium materials like Dalma Cream Croatian Limestone and Margherita White Brazilian Granite to create an inspiring aesthetic.
PICCO Engineering was integral to the project, providing comprehensive stone engineering services. Our team facilitated the careful selection of stones, ensuring they met the project's rigorous standards for aesthetics and durability. We conducted extensive material testing and developed detailed shop drawings for the unique Granite cladding, which captures the changing light throughout the day. Additionally, our engineering expertise addressed the complex geometric shapes of the museum, ensuring precise fit and finish for the stone panels.
As Daniel Teramura, a partner at Moriyama & Teshima, stated "I don't remember another client who has taken that kind of interest in the details." PICCO's commitment to detail was critical to the project's success, showcasing our dedication to excellence in every phase of the process.
