The Guardians: Hero sculpture in New York exemplifies one-of-a-kind fabrication, prominently displayed in the Bryant Park area of Manhattan. This project showcases the accuracy and innovation in stone drafting and fabrication. In addition to the statue in Manhattan, a second sculpture was created for the Milan Expo, displayed in the courtyard of the "Galleria dell'Accademia" in Florence, right outside Michelangelo's original masterpiece, David. This statue was meticulously crafted to the exact proportions of the original David, ensuring a faithful representation.
Masterfully supported by detailed shop drawings, tickets, and engineering, the project also incorporated advanced 3D modelling techniques. Material engineering and structural analysis were critical for each layer of the statue, considering the overall scale and stability. The innovative design utilized threaded dowels and rods with strategically placed disc washers to create concealed connections between the five pre-assembled sections, resulting in an elegant and cohesive final piece.
